Delete Your Account

Last updated: September 21, 2026 · Applies to the LimeShort app and website

You can delete your own account at any time. If you still have the app, do it there — it takes effect immediately. If you no longer have the app installed, use the web request route in Section 2 and we will delete it for you.

1. Delete your account from inside the app (immediate)

  1. Open the LimeShort app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Go to Me → Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account (the red entry at the bottom of the settings list).
  4. Type the email address or phone number registered to the account. If the account has an email address, tap Send code and enter the 6-digit code we email you.
  5. Tap Delete permanently to confirm.

Deletion is carried out immediately. You are signed out, and the data listed in Section 3 is removed in the same transaction. This cannot be undone.

2. Request deletion from the web (if you no longer have the app)

If you have uninstalled the app, email us from the address registered to your LimeShort account:

To: limeshort.mail@gmail.com  ·  Subject: "Delete my account"

Please include:

  • the email address or phone number registered to the account;
  • your LimeShort nickname or account ID, if you know it, so we can find the right account quickly;
  • a short statement that you want the account and its data deleted.

We may ask you to confirm that you control the address or phone number before we proceed. We complete verified requests within 7 days and confirm by email when the deletion is done.

3. What we delete

Deleting your account removes the following from our production database:

  • Account and profile: email address, password hash, linked third-party sign-in identifiers, nickname, avatar, invite code and language/subtitle preferences.
  • Sessions and devices: signed-in device sessions, device identifiers and push-notification tokens.
  • Viewing data: playback history and resume positions.
  • Your activity: follows, collections, likes, comments, danmaku and comment likes.
  • Coins: coin balance and coin transaction records.
  • Other records: episode unlocks, support messages you sent, share records, ad-view records and invite relationships (as inviter or invitee).

4. What we keep, and why

We keep one category of data in anonymised form: playback log records are retained as aggregate statistics (which titles and episodes were played, and when), with your account ID, device identifier and IP address removed. Because nothing in them identifies you or your device, they are no longer personal data, and they are what our "most watched" charts are built from.

We do not keep your comments, danmaku or viewing history after deletion, and we do not sell personal data.

5. If you have a withdrawal under review

If you have a coin withdrawal that is still being reviewed, in-app deletion is blocked until that request is settled, because deleting the account would remove the records we need to pay it or to account for it. Finish or cancel the withdrawal first, then delete the account.

6. Deactivating instead of deleting

Signing out only removes the session from your device — it does not delete your account or your data. If you want your data gone, use Section 1 or Section 2.

7. Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you want to know what we hold about you before deleting, email limeshort.mail@gmail.com. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
